Amsterdam Workshop

2019

Mike Robinson’s three-day Amsterdam Workshop takes place July 3 to July 5. Roger C. Watson, curator of the Fox Talbot Museum at Lacock will join Mike to deliver lectures on the history and practice of early photography. Our host is Clara von Waldthausen, Programme Director & Lecturer Photograph Conservation at the University of Amsterdam and Martin Jürgens, Photographs Conservator at the Rijksmuseum. The location of the workshop is at the university (UvA) adjacent to the Rijksmuseum offering great views in the garden and immediate surroundings for taking contemporary daguerreotypes.

Tutorials

I offer personal and group hands-on instruction in my Toronto studio. Tutorials are either two or three days covering any topic related to the state of the art, including polishing, bromine acceleration, gilding, tinting and housing methods if desired. Students make several daguerreotypes during the lessons that they are free to take away.

 

The tutorial fee is $1000.00 per day, all inclusive, for instructions  plates and materials.
